Mount Charleston Cabin Rentals
Mount Charleston cabin rentals are in high demand year-round. Due to the extreme heat in the Las Vegas Valley during the summer, temperatures on Mount Charleston are over 20 degrees cooler. During the winter, there is considerable demand for cabin rentals during ski season. Investors maintain a high occupancy rate for both short and long-term Lee Canyon cabin rentals on Mt. Charleston.
On weekends with new snowfall, there will be a constant flow of visitors looking for snow fun. Chains are required during storms, but roads are plowed frequently. In 2021, Lodge reservations and purchasing Lee Canyon lift tickets online in advance are recommended due to social distancing.
Besides Lee Canyon cabin rentals, there are lodges for visitors to stay at. Mt. Charleston Lodge has room rentals with outdoor hot tubs that are in high demand during the winter. Lee Canyon Ski Area does not have cabin rentals.
Mt. Charleston Climate
The Mountain experiences the same 300+ sunny days a year that Las Vegas has, but it’s considerably cooler. In contrast, Las Vegas’s average high temperature at Mc Carran International Airport in July is 104 degrees. At 7800 feet, Mt. Charleston Lodge averages a July high of 79 degrees!
Las Vegas (at the airport) has an average low temperature in February of 42 degrees, while the mountain’s average low is 20 degrees.
In contrast to the arid climate that most of Southern Nevada experiences, where the average rainfall in Las Vegas is 4 inches a year, Mt. Charleston Lodge has an average of 9 inches. The annual average snowfall at Mt. Charleston Lodge is 38 inches compared to Las Vegas, which has a 0-inch average.
Lee Canyon Ski Area
Mt. Charleston is the home of Lee Canyon Resort and Ski Area. Lee Canyon features skiing and snowboarding, a tubing hill, and a snow play area beside the hotel and concessions. The summit’s elevation is 11,916 feet, with numerous double-diamond black runs that connect to a variety of intermediate and beginner runs.
