Water-Front Homes In Henderson
There is 1 Community with Lake Front Homes in Henderson – Lake Las Vegas. There are homes with a view of Lake Mead in both Henderson and Boulder City. Lake Mead is a National Recreation Area, so there are no homes within its boundaries.
Lake Las Vegas is a private, guard-gated development located on the road to Lake Mead and is known for upscale homes and its resort communities. Anchored by The Ritz Carlton and a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design Reflection Bay Golf Course, Lake Las Vegas has continued to grow and develop since its grand opening in 1996.
The lake at Lake Las Vegas is a man-made, freshwater lake that will never change water levels. To maintain the beauty and water quality of the lake, the Las Vegas Wash was tunneled and piped under the lake at Lake Las Vegas on its journey to Lake Mead. Gas-powered water-craft are not allowed on the lake either.
Homes At Lake Las Vegas
I remember our first visit to Lake Las Vegas… Our office was invited to a tour of the up-and-coming Lake Las Vegas in 1995. A cruise on the yacht and breakfast sounded good but it was ALL THE WAY out there past Henderson!
The morning came, it was a lovely day, so we went. We cruised around the new, always the same water level lake, ate great food and watched dirt being moved. With the golf course being built at that time, there were also a few spots of green. What a difference 25 years has made!
With Henderson’s growth, Lake Las Vegas is just down the road. It’s secluded but close to EVERYTHING! The community stayed true to its plan of being both an elegant and elite place to live as well as being a great community for people who live there to enjoy. Every time we go there, I like it more.
Having started with custom home lots, and each lot acquiring a golf membership- one to keep with the property and one for the buyer, many custom homes were built quickly. The community, with its remoteness, attracted many Strip performers. Celine Dion is perhaps its most famous resident.
Today’s Housing Market
Homes in Lake Las Vegas range from elaborate custom homes on the water to $250,000 condominiums and everything in between. The architecture is a mixture of Mediterranean and contemporary. Now opened as of February 2020, Del Webb at Lake Las Vegas has launched! What a great place that will be for retirement living for people wanting peace and quiet but being close to anything desired in the Las Vegas Valley
In 2008-2011 during the recession, water-front communities in Las Vegas and Henderson had the lowest depreciation rates. I assume that was because these areas had the fewest foreclosures which kept the neighborhood prices stable. Investing in water in the desert might be a great type of property for you to put on your “Take a Look At” list. Feel Free to take a look at what’s out there or let us know and we’d be happy to do a specific search for you.
Today Lake Las Vegas is simply a beautiful place to live. There is still the added security and peace offered by being 10 minutes from metropolitan areas, but there is also a sense of community. With a marina, golf and aquatic clubhouse, and a sports park, the community has wonderful amenities that weren’t there 10 years ago. There are small marina and boat rental areas, a terrace with shaded tables along the deck and lovely places to walk. Smaller boutique retail for the community was a welcome addition.
