History of Woodside Homes
Woodside Homes was founded in Utah in 1977. Over the years, they grew, branching out into neighboring southwestern states. As with many builders, they got caught with too-high-priced land and values rapidly going the other direction.
The company filed for bankruptcy in 2008. Emerging from that, they were acquired by Oaktree Capital Management and Stonehill Institutional Partners. Finally, in 2017 Woodside Homes was purchased by Japanese giant Sekisui House Ltd.
As a result of Woodside Homes joining the Sekisui House family of companies, they can leverage their buying power and incorporate emerging international technology into the homebuilding process. In addition to the United States, Sekisui builds homes in Japan, China, Singapore, and Australia.
Currently, Woodside Homes Las Vegas is building 9 communities in Las Vegas and Henderson. With 5 neighborhoods coming soon, they will be building homes in the Las Vegas valley for a long time to come.
